February Projects

February Projects

February was sort of a bust for projects. School is keeping me busy, and other things just kept cropping up. I did a lot of work on the FastFriends website, creating more functionality to the admin module, including adding a file upload page that I have been trying to get around to for at least two years!! I also added the FunRun section, and created all the forms for that, which sucked up a whole weekend. And I became webmaster for The Lexus Project, which was a huge honor. I spent another weekend updating, modifying, and recreating, and also crying over most of the dogs that are on the site. :sigh: I have another website that is in the final stages that will be going live soon, and I'll save the url for when that happens, but I'm offering it up here as an excuse for my apparent lack of productivity. : )

I did get some stuff done.

I made two martingale collars for some of my favorite adopters, Susan and George.  They adopted my last broken leg foster, the amazing and irreplaceable CC.  Who I still miss!!!

And I made another damn hat. That I won't wear because I live in SoCal. But, they are just so fun to knit, and they are fast and easy. I did talk to a few women during a trip to Joann's to buy more yarn, and they suggested donating the hats to a group that gives them to cancer patients.  I think that is an amazing idea, and I am going to look into it, how cool would that be??

In January, I made a coat but didn't  say anything in my January blog because it was a gift, so I'll post it here.  I loooove this pattern! It's so easy, and so cute, and I think the bow on the collar is rather jaunty. ; )

And, since I'm posting pictures of stuff done previously but not posted because they were gifts, I'll post my last few days of December project - another 1890 Victorian bathing suit, for my dear friend Diana on the Isle of Man.

And then I started the sock monkey, which I finished in March.  I don't think I have turned on my sewing machine since finishing the coat that I did in January, I think that is a record for me!!! The short stays for the 1810 gown are still cut and waiting to be sewn, I just haven't had the time nor energy to put into them. Soon. I'm going into historical costuming withdrawals!!!
