May Projects
May Projects
I'm getting further and further behind in my monthly blogs! Oy! But, the good news is that there are only 13 weeks and one day left on the capstone project, and then I will be done with my masters degree, and I will have OODLES of time to fill. Eh, who am I kidding, I'll never have oodles of time to fill, I'll always have plenty of things to keep me busy. : )
In May, I finished the regency gown.
And then I made an evening gown.
In the meantime, I was working on knitting a beret. I don't know why, maybe just because hats are so easy, and a beret seems a little more wearable to me than a regular winter hat. I pulled yarn from my stash for this one, I think it is the same yarn I made the first sock monkey hat from. I think I'll actually wear this, next winter, of course. : )
Yes, I'm wearing a wife beater to model the beret. It is SoCal, and it was definitely 80+ degrees out. I think that calls for a wife beater. ; )
And, worn the correct way (but I am just not sure I could pull this look off):
So that was kind of fun. : )
I made Jesse some new jammies, since his old ones are wearing out.
I think I did more online shopping in May than I did sewing or knitting. ; ) And I added an antique sewing machine and table to my collection (that I did not intend to collect!) I've already finished a few projects in June, and have a few more lined up and ready to go. And I have a few in progress; a hat for Knots of Love in a pretty blues watercolor palette; the 40's sweater pattern in the mink heather wool yarn, both of which I am super loving working on! I also have a few smaller sewing projects started, but have not picked my next big project. I'm leaning towards either another classical tutu, or an 18th century gown and corset, but I just can't decide. I'm waiting for inspiration. Perhaps I should stop waiting and start actively looking for some. : )
